Do I need a special computer or operating system?

PCs must be running the Windows 2000, XP, or Vista (certified on select drivers and/or devices) operating system. Apple Mac OS is also fully supported.

Do I need special software to scan my checks?

You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 6.0 or higher and Java plug in, version 1.4.2 or higher. You’ll find the Adobe reader at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ and Java at http://www.java.com/.

Which web browsers can I use?

MS Internet Explorer version 5.5/6.0 or higher, Firefox — latest version, Mozilla — latest version, Netscape — latest version, Safari (Mac) — latest version

What type of internet connectivity do I need?

Any broadband or DSL-type internet access with a minimum 128K bit transfer. Dial-up access can be used, but system performance is not guaranteed. Dial-up should be used for backup only.

Do I need a special scanner to scan my checks?

Any TWAIN-compatible flatbed scanners or all-in-one copier scanner will work. If you are not sure whether your scanner is TWAIN-compatible, refer to the device documentation or contact the manufacturer.

Can pop-up blockers affect my ability to use Deposits On Command?

Yes! Please turn pop-up blockers off.

How to use Deposits On Command

Who is eligible for Deposits On Command?

    Deposits On Command is FREE to qualified First Command Bank customers. To be eligible for this service you:
  • Must be a First Command Bank deposit customer in good standing for at least 6 months
  • Must have a First Command Bank checking or money market savings account
  • Must have a First Command credit card, loan, insurance product or investment product, or participate in the First Command Select Investor Program
  • Must be a registered user of OnCommand online banking (Not a current OnCommand user? Click here to register now.)
  • Must be a registered user of eStatements
     OR
  • Must participate in the First Command Select Investor Program
  • Must have a First Command Bank checking or money market savings account
  • Must be a registered user of OnCommand online banking (Not a current OnCommand user? Click here to register now.)

How do I sign up?

Log in to OnCommand Online Banking. Select the Accounts tab, then select "Deposits On Command." Click “Sign up Now” on the Deposits On Command  page and complete the registration form.

Can I use Deposits On Command™ if I am overseas?

Yes; however, due to our security controls, you will have to provide us with your IP address before we can activate your registration. If you will be accessing Deposits On Command™ outside of the United States, please complete the registration form in OnCommand™ online banking. Then send us a secure message from within OnCommand™ online banking to provide your IP address for your Deposits On Comman™ registration. Once we have your information, we will set up your account and you will receive an email message confirming your registration.

Are there any limits on the dollar amount and number of deposits I can scan in a day?

Yes. There’s a cumulative daily deposit limit of $5,000, and no single item can exceed $5,000.

Do I scan the front and back of my check?

Yes.

Do I need to sign the back of my check?

Yes. Please sign the back of your check, include your First Command Bank account number and write “For Deposit Only.”

When will my deposit be posted?

If we receive your deposit by 4:00 p.m. Central Time, it will post by close of business the same day. If we receive your deposit after 4:00 p.m. CT or on a weekend or holiday, it will post by close of business the following business day. Deposits may not be available for immediate withdrawal based on our Funds Availability Policy.

How will I know if you received my deposit?

We’ll send you a “deposit received” notification by e-mail.

Can I scan more than one check at a time?

No. You may scan only one item at a time.

What if my image of the check I scanned is bad?

You have the option to rescan the item before submitting. If you’re unable to produce a clear image, please send the item by postal mail to:

To request postage-paid envelopes for banking by mail, e-mail fcbcustsvce@firstcommandbank.com. Include your name and address in your request.

Do I destroy my check after I scan and send it to you?

Yes. Once you receive the “deposit approved” notification e-mail, you should destroy the check you’ve just deposited.

Will you place a hold on my check?

Perhaps. In some cases we may not make all of the funds that you deposit available to you on the same day we receive your deposit.  Depending on the type of check that you deposit,  funds may not be available until the fifth business day after the day of your deposit. The first $100 of your deposits, however, may be available on the same day. Please see our Funds Availability Policy for details.

Can I scan a money order?

Yes.

Can I scan a counter check?

No. A counter check does not contain the account number and check number on the MICR line.

Can I scan a foreign check/item?

No. Due to Check 21 and ACH rules we are unable to process checks with foreign routing numbers.

Can I scan a 941 Tax Deposit?

No. A 941 Tax Deposit must accompany a tax coupon for processing.

Can I scan a US Savings Bond?

No. Due to Check 21 and ACH rules we are unable to process Savings Bonds.

Can I deposit a post-dated check?

No.

How long does the system retain my check and report information?

Two years.
